Escort a bomber group toward the submarine pens at Kiel, Germany as part of the new long-range strategic bombing campaign against distant military and industrial targets. Travel as far as your fuel will allow. Enter combat only with enemy aircraft that pose a direct threat to the bombers. Because you lack sufficient range, your fighters must break off and return to base before the bombers reach the target. The bombers are heavily armed, however, and Air Force doctrine states that they should be able to defend themselves.
You have six P-47D-1 Thunderbolt fighters under your command. You will escort six B-24 Liberator heavy bombers.
